I ve never seen anything like that on other wax melts pretty sure it s so you can smell the scents without having to open the lid but it s just that attention to detail that makes me love colonial candle. They are supposedly made with paraffin even though the soft consistency seems to be more soy based. And they also have a couple of holiday wax melts on their website and stores like gabe s around the holidays.

The one thing i loved most about the simmer snaps now only a true wax junkie will appreciate this was the tiny little hole on the lid. Colonial candle scents are very complex and rich and the scents for the most part are fantastic.
